The John Deere 1770NT CCS is a newer, more advanced version of the famous 1770 front-fold planter manufactured by John Deere during the late 1990s and early 2000s. This planter features several upgrades over the legacy 1770 planter, namely a “Central Commodity System” (bulk seed tanks rather than individual on-row hoppers) and no-till row-cleaners, enabling it to plant through thicker crop residue with less ground preparation. While standard today, these features were innovative for the mid 2000s, and 1770NT CCS planters retrofitted with modern technology and hardware are still numerous on farms all across the US.
