Yara N-Sensor ALS v1.0.0.0 LS22

The first generation Yara N-Sensor ALS was manufactured from 2006 to 2018, therefore it is probably the most widely used sensor system for variable-rate nitrogen application. The N sensor is an optical instrument that measures the light reflection of the plant population in different spectral ranges and uses this to collect information about the chlorophyll content and biomass. Both indicators are then used to calculate nitrogen uptake and the optimal amount of fertilizer. A strip three meters wide is measured on both sides of the vehicle; the data is passed on almost in real-time to the control of the spreader or sprayer in order to adjust the amount applied according to requirements. ALS stands for Active Light Source, which means the N sensor can be used regardless of the weather or time of day.
In FS22, the sensor, in combination with the Precision Farming DLC, has the function of recording the nitrogen maps in even more detail while driving. This means the fertilizer can be used even more efficiently and the yield potential can be increased.
After attaching, the N-sensor can be placed on the tractor using the mouse buttons. If the sensor should be detached again, it is recommended to first move the sensor back to its original position before detatching, or else there might be issues when trying to attach it again.
